Outreach and Evangelism -

The goal of this ministry is to fulfill God's call to "Gather His people, to His Home".  More than a slogan, it constitutes a summons, a divinely-spoken directive that we are called to follow in view of where we came from, what we are, and where we are destined by God to go.  It is our response to the Lord's directive to "Go...make...and teach".

First Saturday Breakfast:  Each month, we help feed the Homeless as part of the First Saturday Breakfast program.

Recycle Toner Program: We collect used toner cartridges and send them off to be recycled.  Proceeds go to support mission priests.

Church School - Religious education and formation classes held on Sundays following the Divine Services.
Philia Women's Group -

Our Statement of Purpose is as follows:

Philia provides us with an opportunity for prayer, spiritual growth, service to our parish & our community, and fellowship. Philia serves as a concrete way for us to act on our love of the Lord and others.

Youth and Young Adult -

Youth and Young Adult Ministry here at St. George Greek Orthodox Church is a relationship-based process by which youth gather in a relaxed, social venue to share the experience of being an Orthodox Christian with their peers and to learn how put their faith into action.  This is done through age appropriate interactive activities, discussions, service projects, retreats, social gatherings and outings.

The goals of our Youth Ministry are as follows:

  1. To introduce and connect them to our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ, and to help them deepen their relationship with Him.
  2. To offer social, religious, and service related opportunities which are inclusive, diverse, and fun.
  3. To lead them in experiencing our most precious and holy Orthodox Christian Faith.
  4. To encourage and support them in their efforts to be active participants in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church.
  5. To help them develop life long bonds and meaningful relationships with their peers and with those who minister to them.
Orthodox Christian Fellowship - Outreach to Orthodox Christian College Students at the University of Oregon.  The goal of OCF is to keep college kids connected to Christ and the Church, during their college years.  In addition to having an OCF Chapter at the U of O,  we are pleased to announce the opening of the St. Nektarios OCF House. The house will be the gathering place for OCF but also will provide housing for 5 students. For more info, contact Father Jerry... frgerasimos@sntgrg.org
